Hyunul is a textile artist redefining knitting as a form of contemporary art.

Currently studying at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Hyun has over 10+  years of experience in knitting and crochet, building a practice deeply rooted in hand-based processes.

Rather than treating knitting as a functional craft, Hyun approaches it as a conceptual and material-driven medium—pushing beyond its traditional role in garment-making.

Their work explores the boundaries between craft and art by integrating knitting with other disciplines, including leatherwork, pottery, stained glass, and lacquerware.

Through this expansion, knitting is repositioned not as a technique, but as an independent artistic language
